We're excited you're here!

At PACT, we're committed to a partnership between parents, students, and teachers to build students of character and academic excellence. We work together to select curriculum, design programs, and develop policies.

Every student at PACT is known and valued. A small community atmosphere, caring teachers, and a wide variety of extracurricular activities help students grow.

PACT Charter School offers a comprehensive program encompassing academics, athletics, the arts, and character development. Every student is given the opportunity to be both challenged and supported, with programs tailored to their unique abilities, skills, and needs.

The Enrollment Process, Step by Step

Submit your application between September 1 and November 30 for the following school year. PACT is a tuition-free public charter school open to all Minnesota residents, with no application fees. There's no advantage to applying early, as names are drawn to determine the order offers are made, not first-come order.

Because applications exceed available seats, a lottery is held the first week in December through Lotterease, an automated system PACT staff cannot influence or adjust. Some applicants receive preference status (see below), which affects placement order. You can track your application status anytime by logging in to the parent portal.

Starting December 1, families are notified of enrollment offers in sequential order by text, email, and/or phone call as seats become available. You have four calendar days to accept or decline — after that, the offer moves to the next family on the list. Add pact_charter_school@lotterease.com as an approved sender so notifications don't land in spam.

PACT is not responsible for missed emails, texts, or calls that result in a missed deadline.

Starting in February, once you have accepted an offer, you will be asked to complete Online Registration through Infinite Campus. You have seven days to complete registration or risk forfeiting your seat.

Kindergarten families are also invited to Kindergarten Preview Night on March 22, 2027.

Missed the lottery deadline? You're automatically added to the waitlist. Waitlist applications are accepted year-round, and offers are made as space arises — an early waitlist position isn't necessarily indicative of final placement, so don't let it discourage you from staying on the list.

How Enrollment Works

    • Kindergarten: Must be five years old by September 1.
    • First Grade: Must be six years old by September 1, or have completed a qualified kindergarten program. Mid-year transfers must meet the age requirement or be currently enrolled in first grade elsewhere.

  • Under Minnesota charter school law, enrollment preference is given to:

    • Siblings of currently enrolled PACT students (related by blood, marriage, adoption, or foster care)
    • Children of PACT employees working 480+ hours per year

  • Families must reapply each year by the lottery deadline for any student who was not enrolled. The waitlists do not carry over to the following year.

  • Results can shift in the weeks after the lottery as families accept or decline offers, which can change sibling preference status for others. Currently enrolled families and employees' children take precedence.
